Chairman of the Convergences annual forum, Jean-Michel Severino was heard as moderator on today's opening conference. This second day of the event broke out with an inspiring gathering of high-level speakers :

Bertrand Badré, World Bank's managing director and World Bank group's CFO
Monique Barbut, UNCCD's Executive Secretary
Tawakkol Karman, 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
Marisol Touraine, French Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Women's Rights

The conference's topic "Building Tomorrow's World Together" ought to emphasize the crucial need for a multilateral strategy which would call in stakeholders from all sectors.

Every year, Convergences convenes a rich panel of world-wide development experts to brainstorm the burning issues that are challenging the global economy within the upcoming horizon of 2015. As the deadline is already at the door, the leaders shall now question why the Millenium Developement Goals remain at this state of unachievement and how should we change to make it by 2030.

Convergences brings together the brightest thinkers upon the question and enlightens the role each one should play in this global partnership.
