Investisseurs & Partenaires took part to the Africa SMB Forum through the speech given by JM Severino in Casablanca on the opening ceremony of the 1st Africa SMB Forum called “How to invest in Africa”. This first meeting was held by the Africa SMB platform created in 2012 by Dogad Dogoui, a French-Ivorian entrepreneur and dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of an African network of Small and Medium entrepreneurs.

Provide this network with all the attention and resources needed to pursue its action on the continent economic and social development was the main goal of this forum which gathered 300 entrepreneurs, investors and state representatives from Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin and North America and the Middle-East. Such a large scale of participants stood for the infinite business opportunities lying in Africa but also for the initiatives and investment dynamics pushed as well by developed markets as by emerging ones.

Networking was a key word during this forum, given to the very few unilateral interventions (only 2 conferences and 3 round-tables) outnumbered by the collective workshops and individual BtoB meetings. This notion of multilateral relations between entrepreneurs and investors offered a business environment that overcame the traditional think-tank coloration of such a meeting within a view to actually build this commercial network of SMEs that fuels the African private sector.
