Alexandre Ponton

Alexandre Ponton joined I&P in January 2025 as Advisory Manager.

Based in Uganda, he oversees I&P's expansion in the region and manages consulting projects across the continent.

Alexandre has nearly 10 years' experience investing in and advising SMEs, financial institutions and impact funds in Africa. He has conducted over 50 due diligences, developed financial analysis frameworks for impact funds and deployed close to $2m in “missing middle” SMEs in East Africa. He also led the fundraising of $4.5m for a social impact company in the climate and WASH sectors active in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.

As an entrepreneur, he founded a successful furniture manufacturing company in Kampala and led consulting missions in over 10 African countries.

Alexandre holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from McGill University.
