From June 21 to 23, I&P organised the 6th edition of its training course entitled "Becoming a player of the impact investing sector".

Around fifteen participants from 8 different countries (Mali, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, the United States, Tunisia, Morocco and France) gathered in Paris for this training course combining plenary sessions and practical workshops, with the support of several speakers from I&P and external experts.

A comprehensive overview of impact investing…

The training course opened with a presentation by Jean-Michel Severino (Chairman of I&P's Supervisory Board), who discussed the main benefits of impact investment for both public and private players. Samuel Monteiro (Head of ESG & Impact at I&P) continued with an overview of impact investing.

Hélène Demaegdt (President and Founder of Gaïa Impact Fund) and Benjamin Métadier (Head of Investments @Lita.co) rounded off this overview by illustrating the different facets of impact investing through their practical experiences.

 

... From theory to practice

Participants then moved on to practical issues, working on the creation of a fictitious impact fund with the support of Alexis Thirouin (Administrative and Financial Director at I&P), Wiem Abdeljaouad (Investment Expert) and Samuel Monteiro: definition of the investment thesis and the impact thesis, management of ESG & Impact KPIs, financial parameters and legal and human resources issues.

Ben Kouakou (IPAE Investment Director) and Shino Grivel (IPAE Finance and Operations Director) intervened as jury members during the final presentations.

 

inally, the programme ended with a session led by Mathilde Jacquemin and Marianne Vidal Marin (respectively Advisory Manager and Director of I&P Conseil) on the concepts of blended finance and catalytic capital.
